TRADEMARKS & LICENSING
I maintain a close collaboration with USC Trademarks and Licensing, ensuring that the designs I create for both apparel and hard goods adhere to their standards as well as those set by USC Athletics. My engagement extends beyond the USC private labels, Heritage and Team Trojan, to include co-branding initiatives. The USC Bookstore had previously established agreements for co-branding with Chubbies, The Ave, and USC Athletics' Women of Troy. I closely collaborated with the creative teams of these companies, ensuring that all apparel and marketing materials received the approval from USC Trademarks and Licensing. This involves the design and branding of hangtags, hat stickers, clothing labels, and any other areas where a co-branded logo is featured.
The introduction of co-branding at the USC Bookstore prompted the development of a robust communication system. This system ensures that all licensed artwork undergoes the necessary channels of approvals and revisions before attaining approval as an officially licensed collegiate product. I implemented a systematic approach to document each licensed item throughout the submission, revision, and approval stages.
Notably, for the 2017 Rose Bowl Game, I collaborated with the USC Bookstore, USC Trademarks and Licensing, USC Athletics, and The Tournament of Roses teams to create co-branded apparel, hard goods, and other merchandise under the banner of USC's Team Trojan brand.
